1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. quick cooking or regular oats
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat sugars, butter, peanut butter, vanilla and egg until creamy and well blended. Mix in flour, oats, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet. About 2 dozen cookies. For bars, spread dough in a greased 9"x9"x2" square pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into 2"x1" bars. 36 bars.
