AMISH VANILLA PIE | |
1/2 c. white Karo 2 tbsp. flour 1 egg, well beaten 3/4 c. water 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. lard 1 unbaked pie shell Combine sugar, Karo, 2 tablespoons flour, egg, water, and vanilla in pan. Bring to rolling boil. Set aside to cool. Make crumbs by combining 1 cup flour, brown sugar, cream of tartar, soda with butter and lard. Pour cream into pie; top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. |
