APPLE CRISP 
6 lg. apples (Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
6 tbsp. butter

Arrange apples in greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour orange juice over apples. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over apples. Combine flour, brown sugar, salt and butter to make a crumbly mixture. Spread over apples. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are tender and crust is lightly browned, about 45 minutes.

VARIATION: For a nutty flavor, add 1/4 cup rolled oats and an additional tablespoon of butter to the flour mixture.
