GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
1 qt. freshly cooked potatoes, sliced or diced
1/4 lb. bacon, cut with scissors into tiny pieces
1 onion, cut fine
1 scant tbsp. flour
1/2 c. hot water (potato water)
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Fry bacon until light brown. Add onion and fry gently. Stir in flour; combine water, vinegar and sugar and add. Cook a few minutes and pour over hot potatoes. Mix carefully and season with salt and pepper. Keep warm until time for serving. Yield: about 8 servings.
