CHERRY SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (1 lb. 5 oz.) can cherry pie filling

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and then flour. Blend in vanilla. Spread batter in a greased jelly roll pan (15 1/2" x 10 1/2"). Cut surface of batter to make 24 squares. Spoon pie filling into center of each square. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool, cut into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
