CARAMEL BARS 
2 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar

Mix until crumbly and reserve 1 cup for topping. Pat the rest in a jelly roll pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

CARAMEL (cook while crust bakes) :
1 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar

Combine in heavy pan and boil 1 minute or until well blended. Remove from oven and sprinkle 1 cup chopped pecans over crust. Drizzle caramel over pecans and top with the 1 cup of reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. When done, break up a 1/2 pound Hershey bar and put on top. When chocolate is melted, spread around on bars. Cool well before cutting.
