BEETLESS BORSCHT 
1 lb. stew beef, cut in bite sized chunks
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 (20 oz.) can tomatoes
2 qts. water
Salt and pepper

Bring to a boil and simmer 2 hours. Add 3-4 carrots cut up, 1 head cabbage coarsely chopped, 2 potatoes cubed, and cook for 1 more hour. These amounts are approximate.
