CALIFORNIA FRUIT BARS | |
2 c. sifted enriched flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 eggs, beaten 1 c. sugar 2 pkgs. pitted dates (7 oz.) dates 1 c. honey or molasses 1/2 c. shortening, melted 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. raisins Heat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together first flour ingredients, mix eggs, sugar, molasses and shortening. Stir in the flour mixture. Add nuts and fruit. Mix well. Spread batter in two paper lined greased 9 inch square pans. Bake 40 minutes. Turn on to wire rack to cool when cold cut into bars. 64 bars. |
