IOWA HAM BALLS | |
2 lb. ground ham 2 lb. ground beef 2 c. graham cracker crumbs 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. milk SAUCE: 2 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) tomato soup, undiluted 3/4 c. white vinegar 2 1/4 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. dry mustard Combine ground ham, ground beef, crumbs, eggs and milk. Shape mixture, 1/2 cup at a time into individual balls and place in 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Combine sauce ingredients and pour over balls. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Many ham balls have onion and green pepper and other seasonings added BUT I find that this recipe is easy to make and very digestible. It is also very tasty and nice to take to "Potluck" dinners, etc. |
