CHOW CHOW 
4 qts. sm. cucumbers, cut
2 heads cauliflower, separated
5 lbs. sm. onions
6 med. red peppers
6 green peppers

Soak all ingredients in 1 cup salt and water, stir often. In morning, heat everything in salt water and rinse and drain for 1/2 day. Heat and boil 2 1/2 quarts vinegar with 2 tablespoons pickling spice, 2 hot peppers and strain.

Mix 4 1/2 tablespoons flour, 9 cups sugar, 4 teaspoons turmeric, 4 1/2 ounce can dry mustard. Mix this with 1/2 quart vinegar to make paste. Add hot vinegar to this and cook until shiny. To this add vegetables and 5 teaspoons celery seed, 2 teaspoons mustard seed. Heat, then put into jars and seal.
