GRAM'S YEAST ROLLS | |
2 pkg. active dry yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 1/3 c. warm water 1/2 c. butter, butter or great 1 c. scalded milk 1/2 c. cold water 2 eggs 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 4 1/2 c. flour Soften yeast and sugar in warm water, melt also in scalded milk Add cold water. Beat eggs and sugar until thick. Add yeast and warm milk; salt and 2 1/2 cups flour. Add remaining flour and mix well. Place bowl in water; let rise until double. Punch down and stiffen with little flour until it loses its stickness. Let rise again. Shape into rolls; let rise again until light. Bake in greased pan at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. |
