I soak my apples in Sprite to prevent browning! Drain dry before adding them! I cut up my candy in bite size pieces then fold my cool whip in with the apples and snickers drizzle Carmel on top and put in the freezer few minutes before serving!

We've always made this in larger batches (several apples, several snickers bars, 2-3 tubs of cool whip) and after we chop up the apples, we soak them in a large bowl of sprite or 7-up to keep from browning. Works well! Never tried adding the pudding mix, sounds good!

Omg this is the best dessert I had ever had it lost me at Apple chunks but I know that you can,t judge it by how it goes so I tried it and I'll say that was delicious.

I swapped out the Snickers for Twix. It was very good that way as well.

Can I do the apple/snickers recipe the night before instead of the day of? Or will they brown to easy still?
I put lemon juice on it.

When I make this, I always make a lot, with 6-8 apples, 8-10 Snickers. I do use about half a lemon for the juice, which keeps the apples from going brown so quickly. And along with the Snickers, I like to add a couple handfuls of sweetened flaked coconut and a couple handfuls of mini marshmallows.

I'm wondering if you need to add any lemon juice to the apples? Also could you use Twix caramel bars chopped up? Sounds good or your favorite candy bar.

Marshmallow fluff works great in it so it stays more firm.

The reason the cool whip breaks down is because you freeze the snickers. Do not freeze them. Just cut them in small pieces. As they melt it waters down the cool whip.

 Maria (Minnesota) says:
I like this recipe because of the 1:1 ration of apples to Snickers bars -- others use less candy. I refrigerate the bars so they are firm, then I cut the candy small, and toss the apples and candy together. Then I fold in the Cool Whip. The more you stir the Cool Whip, the greater the chance it will start to run. Also, the salad should be refrigerated between when it is made and when it is served, or the Cool Whip could get runny.
