GERMAN DATE NUT BREAD 
4 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. melted butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Put melted butter and sugar into large bowl, add 2 eggs and mix well. Alternate dry ingredients with the milk, mixing well. Add nuts and dates, pour into 2 large loaf pans. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven. Cool on rack. Wrap when cool in aluminum foil. Freezes well.
