NEW ZEALAND PAVLOVA | |
4 egg whites Pinch cream of tartar 1 tsp. vanilla 8 oz. sugar 1 tsp. cornstarch 1 tsp. vinegar 1 tbsp. cold water Heat oven to 400 degrees, then beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff. Add 4 ounces sugar and beat again. With knife fold in rest of sugar. Add vanilla, vinegar, cornstarch and cold water in that order and mix gently. Get waxed paper slightly wet and put that side down on cookie sheet, do not spread. Place in oven and turn it off immediately. Bake one hour, cut up kiwi fruit or strawberries to decorate. |
