2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. Crisco or shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/4 c. hot water
3 c. oatmeal
3 c. flour
Salt

Roll thin. Cut with round cutter.

FILLING:

1 pkg. dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water

Boil until thick. Bake at 375 degrees. This recipe makes a large batch of cookies. Bake about 10 to 12 minutes.
