OATMEAL DROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2/3 c. molasses (sorghum)
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
4 c. rolled oats
Optional: 1 c. chopped nuts and 1 c. chopped dates
2 c. raisins

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and molasses. Stir together dry ingredients, then mix into above. Stir in rolled oats and raisins, etc. Oven at 400 degrees. Bake 10 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
