DI'S BLONDE BROWNIES 
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. light brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder

On medium heat, in 3 quart saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and beat till smooth. Add dry ingredients and pour in buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool, then cut into squares. May add 1/2 cup coconut, if desired, before baking. Also, for peanut butter brownies, you may exchange 1/2 cup peanut butter for 1/2 stick butter and you may want omit chocolate chips.
