VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef or 2 lbs. stewing beef
5 beef bouillon
1 stalk celery, cut up
6 carrots, cut up
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 c. cabbage, chopped
1/2 c. barley
2 (15 oz.) stewed tomatoes or whole tomatoes, blended
1/2 pkg. soup noodles
1 tsp. salt and pepper
1 tsp. onion salt or powder
1/2 tsp. oregano

Saute meat in oil until lightly browned. Drain. Pour water in large kettle, put meat, bouillon, barley, seasons and vegetables in, all but stewed tomatoes. Bring to a boil then reduce to low heat covered for one hour. Pour tomatoes and noodles in. Cook 12 more minutes until noodles are done.
