TRADITIONAL MINCE PIE | |
Pastry for 2 crust pie Condensed mincemeat, crumbled 2 tbsp. water (optional) 2 (9 oz.) pkg. None Such 3 c. water 1 egg yolk Place rack in lower half of oven, preheat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry. In saucepan combine mincemeat and water. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir 1 minute. Cool. Turn into pastry lined 9 or 10 inch pie plate. Cover with top crust; cut slits near center. Seal and flute. For a more golden crust, mix egg yolk and water; brush over entire surface of pie. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly. |
