1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 apples, peeled and chopped

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, then rest of ingredients. Bake in 9 x 9 greased pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with sauce or whipped cream.

SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch

Mix sugar and cornstarch then rest of ingredients and cook until thickened. Serve hot or cold.
