BEEF STEW 
1 tbsp. fat
1 lb. beef, cubed
1 lg. onion, sliced
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 c. water
4 sm. potatoes
1 c. green beans
4 sm. carrots
1 c. tomatoes
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. water

Brown meat in fat. Add onion, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup water. Place small potatoes, green beans, carrots and tomatoes over meat. Cover and cook until meat and vegetables are tender. Make a paste of the flour and 1/4 cup water and stir into stew to thicken.
