SAVORY BEEF STEW 
2 lb. chuck
2 tsp. fat
4 c. boiling water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 clove garlic
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Dash of all spice
1 tsp. sugar
6 carrots, diced
1 onion, chopped
2 c. potatoes, diced
1/2 tsp. paprika

Cut beef in 1 1/2 inch cubes and brown in fat in a large sauce pan. Add boiling water, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves, salt pepper, peprika, all spice and sugar. Simmer for 2 hours. Add carrots, onion and potatoes. Cook until vegetables are tender.
