Mind blowingly delicious! Half the recipe unless you have a family of 20. How do you make the cookies bind together a little more?

This recipe is the real deal.

Make certain that the raw oatmeal is blended to a fine powder. By raw, they mean uncooked oatmeal like the plain old Quaker Oats in the round, tall cardboard "can." Other brands will do, of course, but don't cook it first.

Adding other things, like coconut or raisins, is worth a try. I love these cookies with coconut added along with the chocolate chips.

Blend the oatmeal in a blender until it is a very fine powder, i.e., so it is almost the consistency of regular flour.

Bake at 375°F for about 8 minutes...no longer, or cookies will be hard and crunchy. If done right, they will still be soft and look almost like they aren't done yet, and they'll be a little hard to handle. Use a spatula. Remove from oven and cookie sheet carefully and let cool completely on a wire grate that can let air get underneath them as well as over the top.

When cool, enjoy. They're excellent.

Mrs. Field's uses no more than 300°F when baking her cookie recipes. This means you will need to bake the cookie between 18 and 22 minutes. That is the secret to a better cookie-lower baking temperatures!!
