CHERRY WINK COOKIES 
1 cup shortening
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
pecan bits
candied cherries

Cream together shortening and cream cheese. Add shortening, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and almond extract; beat well. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add to cream mixture. Chill 1 hour.
