1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. plain M&M'S®
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. + 2 tbsp. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs

Blend shortening and both sugars in bowl. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to sugar mixture; blend well. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet; put candy on top.

Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.

Makes about 40 (2-inch) cookies.
