BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
3 c. sugar
2 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. pickling spice
2 tsp. dry mustard
12 c. sliced cucumbers
1 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric
Canning salt
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 hands full of canning salt

Step 1. Put canning salt over cucumbers and onions. Let set 2 to 3 hours.

Step 2. Put in large pan over low heat. Combine sugar, vinegar, pickling spice, dry mustard, celery seed and turmeric. Pour over cucumbers. Bring to boil, turning often to cook evenly. Pour into prepared jars and seal.
