1 c. white flour
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 c. water
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Food coloring, liquid or paste

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan. Add food coloring until desired color is reached. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon over medium heat until mixture thickens into a ball. Turn hot dough onto a floured board. When dough is cool enough to touch, knead dough on the floured board until smooth. Keep covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
