PEPPER STEAK | |
1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. chopped onions 2 green peppers, stripped 2 lb. round steak, stripped 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 2 c. tomatoes (1 can) 1 beef bouillon cube or 1 can beef broth 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. water 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt white wine (optional) mushrooms (optional) Melt butter. Add onions and peppers. Sauté 2 minutes. Set aside and remove from skillet. Sauté beef sprinkled with garlic powder. Stir until brown. Add tomatoes and broth or bouillon cubes. Simmer 10 minutes. Blend together cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Stir into meat and cook until thickened. Add onions and peppers and heat. From my friend, Jean Towers, now deceased. |
