TURTLE CAKE | |
1 box German chocolate cake mix (or white cake mix) 1 1/3 c. water 1 stick butter 1/3 c. oil 3 eggs 1/2 can Eagle Brand milk CENTER: 1 lb. caramels 1/2 can Eagle Brand milk 1 c. chopped pecans Add all ingredients to the cake mix. Spread 1/2 cake batter in an oblong pan, lightly greased and floured. Bake for 25 minutes in a 325 degree preheated oven, or until toothpick comes out clean. While the cake is baking, melt 1 pound of caramels. Stir in milk and pecans. Spread over baked layer and pour the last of the cake batter evenly over the caramel-pecan mixture. Return to oven and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. |
