FRUIT CAKE 
1 dozen eggs
1 tsp. each mace, ginger, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon
1 lb. butter
2 lbs. flour (6 c.)
2 lbs. sugar (4 c.)
2 lbs. each raisins, citrons, currants, dates, cherries, fruit cake mix
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. black coffee
1 c. whiskey
6-12 c. nuts, mixed
1 c. candied orange peel
1 c. molasses

Add soda to flour and dredge raisins, currants, nuts with flour. Beat eggs until fluffy and add sugar gradually. Add rest of ingredients, alternating flour with liquids. Bake at 250 degrees for 3 1/2 hours. Makes 2 large or 3 medium cakes. Cool and sprinkle with whiskey. Freezes well.
