1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. raisins
1 med. orange

Juice orange, grind rind and raisins. Mix as for cake. Bake in moderate oven, 1/2 cup sugar and orange juice to pour over cake when taken from oven.
