JAM KOLACHES
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 small package (3-ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup strawberry jam
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar

Cream butter and cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl; beat until fluffy. Add flour, then mix well.

Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface; cut with a 2-inch round cutter. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Spoon 1/4 teaspoon of the jam on each cookie; fold opposite sides together slightly overlapping edges.

Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.

Remove to wire racks to cool; sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Windy day... why not make these? :) (Colorado) says:
We made these with apricot filling as well as strawberry jam :) they came out great! Not super sweet in apricot and delightfully sweet in strawberry. Great for me and my sweeter hubby.

As made these cookies several times successfully, and they are quite delicious, but the last three times I've made them, they opened up in the oven and the jam spilled out. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I'm so frustrated, I may not make these again. Thinking either I didn't roll them thin enough or put too much jam.

I saw the same recipe on utube-do not use more than 1/2 tsp. of jam for the filling or they will burst open like yours did. also, roll them 1/4" instead of 1/8" and add a little milk on the edge where you are folding the crescent just before baking. hope this will help you make them again. I am letting mine frig overnight and filling them with a fig and nut holiday mixture:)
