1/2 c. Crisco 2 sticks butter 3 c. sugar Cream together add 5 eggs beating about 2 minutes after each: 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. lemon 1/2 tsp. almond 1/2 tsp. butternut 1/4 tsp. coconut Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour. Add flavoring last and bake in 10 inch tube pan at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool 15 minutes in pan. Flavor is best if frozen before eating. FROSTING: 1/2 c. Crisco 1 box confectioners' sugar Dash of salt 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla or other flavoring Mix Crisco and salt. Add sugar and water alternating. Mix well and add flavoring. May need to add more water. keep leftover frosting indefinitely. |
