INDIAN FRY BREAD 
2 c. lukewarm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. melted shortening or oil
6 c. flour

Mix water, yeast, sugar and salt. Let set until yeast rises to top add shortening and enough flour to make a stiff sponge. Let rise hour. Knead remaining flour into dough. Let rise another hour. Make into balls about the size of a small tennis ball. Freeze on a cookie sheet. Place in a plastic bag.

To Cook: Thaw and roll very thin (1/8 to 1/4 inch). Fry in very hot oil. Turn when puffed and brown other side.

Start dough 2 1/2 hours before serving time if you do not plan to freeze the dough.

18 c. flour
