GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
6 lg. Delicious apples, sliced thickly 5 tbsp. sugar 1 c. nuts (any kind) 5 tsp. cinnamon Place in a large bowl. Mix until coated nicely, butter well a 10-inch tube pan. In another large bowl, mix by hand: 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 3 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/3 c. orange juice 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. oil (Wesson) Put cake batter in tube pan first, then a layer of apple mixture. Then cake batter. In other words, divide the cake batter in half. Put the apple batter in the middle. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 375 degrees. |
