GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 lg. or 3 sm. eggs 1 c. salad oil 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 3 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 4 c. sliced apples, tart cooking apples 1/2 c. nuts (optional) Beat eggs and oil until light and fluffy. Add rest of ingredients, except apples and nuts, and beat until well blended. Mix in apples and nuts with a spoon. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. FROSTING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 6 tbsp. butter, softened 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. milk Beat until smooth and spread on cooled cake. |
