PRALINE POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
1 (1 lb.) pkg. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan. Spread 1/2 cup pecans in bottom of pan. Mix sugars, butter, shortening. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients. Add milk. Add vanilla and pecans. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
