ITALIAN GREEN BEANS | |
1 lb. fresh green beans 1 med. onion, sliced & separated into rings 3 cloves garlic 1 tsp. vegetable oil 2 tbsp. water 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. dried basil 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese Wash beans, trim ends and remove strings. Add water to a depth of 1 inch in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until tender. AAdd green beans. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. dd 2 tablespoons water, sugar, dried basil and salt. Cook mixture 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove and discard garlic. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Yield 3 servings. 97 calories per 1 cup serving. |
