STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS | |
6 lg. green peppers 1 lbs. ground beef 2 tbsp. chopped onion 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. garlic salt 1 c. cooked rice 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce 3/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese Cut the top off and remove seeds and rinse. Cook pepper in boiling water to cover 5 minutes, drain. Cook ground beef and onion until it is light brown, drain. Stir in salt, garlic salt, rice, 1 cup tomato sauce, heat through. Stuff each pepper with mixture, stand upright in ungreased baking dish 8 x 8 x 2 inch. Pour remaining sauce over peppers. Cover, cook in 350 degree oven 45 minutes. Uncover, cook 15 minutes longer. Sprinkle with cheese. 6 servings. |
