CORNBREAD DRESSING | |
2 1/2 c. corn meal 3/4 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. baking powder 3 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. oil 3 eggs 3 c. milk Mix all ingredients and pour into large skillet and bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. MEAT MIXTURE: 2 onions, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 c. celery, chopped 2 lb. lean ground meat 2 cans cream of mushroom soup 3 beaten eggs 1. In large skillet brown the meat. Add onions, bell pepper, garlic and celery. Season to taste, using salt, black pepper and red pepper. Cook slowly for 45 minutes. 2. Add the cream of mushroom soup. 3. Crumble cornbread and add to meat mixture. 4. Stir in beaten eggs. 5. Bake in 350 degree oven until bubbly. Serves 12-14. |
