MYSTERY PECAN PIE 
1 (9 inch) pie shell, unbaked (do not prick)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/3 c. plus 1/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. white Karo syrup

Beat cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, salt and set aside. Beat 3 eggs, 1/4 cup of sugar, the syrup and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread cheese mixture over bottom of unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle part of the pecans. Pour second mixture over the cheese mixture. Sprinkle remaining pecans over top. Bake at 375 degrees 35 minutes or until center is firm.
