DAN'S CHILI 
This is a hearty chili that is very quick and easy to prepare. It is great in a bowl with oyster crackers or over noodles. It is also great when made with ground turkey.

1 to 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 onion, diced
1 (19 oz.) can kidney beans
2 (15 oz. ea.) cans spicy chili beans
1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
2 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
1/2 tsp. hot sauce
8 oz. mild cheddar cheese (for top)
salt and pepper, to taste

In a 5-quart pot, brown ground meat until cooked through. Drain fat reduce heat to medium and add the onion, salt and pepper. Cook onion till clear then add all ingredients except the cheese - do NOT drain the beans. Bring to a simmer, stirring to incorporate the ingredients, ready to serve or can be simmered uncovered for an hour for a bit thicker chili.

Top with as much cheese as you like. Modify how spicy you like it with your favorite hot sauce.
