WHEAT GERM MUFFINS | |
1 c. wheat germ 4 tbsp. brown sugar 1 egg 4 tsp. baking powder 1 c. whole wheat flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. oil Mix milk and beaten egg. Add wheat germ. Let stand. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Mix together with egg mixture. Add oil; stir. 1/2 fill greased muffin tins. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. This recipe can take lots of substitutes. To make them lighter, use part white flour. Molasses or honey can replace part of sugar. Bran or Raisin Bran cereal can replace part of wheat germ. |
