FRENCH APPLE PIE 
Unbaked 9-inch pie shell
7 c. sliced pared apples
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tbsp. butter

Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon. Turn into pie shell. Dot with butter; sprinkle with topping.

TOPPING:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 tbsp. ground cinnamon

Combine ingredients; cut in 1/2 cup butter until crumbly. Bake in 400 degree oven 50 minutes or until apples are tender.
