2 c. cornmeal
3 tbsp. flour
1 egg, beaten
1 onion, finely chopped
1 c. buttermilk

Combine meal, flour, and onion. Gradually beat in milk and egg. Let sit about 5 minutes. Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil where fish was fried. Fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

CORN MEAL PIE

(Makes 2 Pies) 4 eggs 4 tbsp. cold water 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. cornmeal 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 stick melted butter

Mix all ingredients together and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
