CHERRY COBBLER (ESSIE'S) | |
1/4 c. soft butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1 (#2) can drained fruit 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar as desired Cream butter and sugar. Sift dry ingredients with adding milk alternately. Beat until smooth. Pour into 10x5x3 inch loaf pan. Pour sugared fruit over batter. Sprinkle with extra sugar on top. The fruit and juice go to the bottom and batter comes to the top. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or topping, hot from the oven. Serves 6. You can use any fruit you like. Very good recipe. A very old recipe. |
