BETTY'S ORIGINAL CHOCOLATE NUT
BARS
 
3 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter

FILLING:

1 c. butter
12 oz. chocolate chips
2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pecans

Combine pastry ingredients until crumbly. Grease bottom and sides of 15x10x1 inch pan. Press crust into pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

While crust is baking, melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan just until syrupy. Stir in remaining ingredients. As soon as the crust is finished, pour filling in pan. Bake at 350 degrees an additional 30 minutes or until filling is firm. Cool in pan. Cut into bars. Can be frozen after baking.
