CLOVERLEAF ROLLS 
8 c. flour
2 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
2 tbsp. shortening, melted
2 yeast pkgs.
1/4 c. lukewarm water

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar.

Mix 2 cups water, sugar, salt, and shortening. Add to yeast mixture. Add eggs, 4 cups flour, then beat thoroughly. Add about 2 1/2 cups flour and put 1 cup on board. Knead until it squeaks. Place in greased pan; grease top. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Punch down. Makes balls (3 to a bun - let rise 1 hour). Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
