SWEDISH PEPPERKAKOR 
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. light molasses
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. finely grated orange peel.

Mix butter, sugar, egg and molasses for 1/2 minute. Stir in flour and dry ingredients (sifted together). If dough is not stiff enough, add 1 teaspoon flour. Refrigerate 2 hours or longer.

Roll in granulated sugar instead of flour. Roll thin. Cut in shapes. Bake for 10-12 minutes in 375 degree oven. Watch carefully.

GLAZE:

2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. warm water

This recipe makes 6 dozen cookies. Can freeze.
