AUTUMNAL ACORN SQUASH | |
2 acorn squash, med. size 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 8 tbsp. melted butter 1/2 c. real maple syrup 12 (3 inch) slices raw bacon Cut squash in half and scrape out seeds. Combine remainder of ingredients except bacon and pour into the squash halves. Place 3 bacon slices on top of each squash half and place in a baking dish. Pour 1 inch boiling water in dish (so that squash is actually sitting in water). Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Yields 4. |
